Papilloma Removal by LP-CLINIC

The papillomas, also known as moles, are small, round, benign skin growths. They are usually the same color as the skin, but can be pink, brown, or even dark. In the latter case, the papillomas resemble common moles (olives). They are caused by HPV viruses, the same viruses that cause warts and condylomas, with the only difference being that they are not as contagious.

Symptoms

Warts are usually asymptomatic and are particularly common in people after the age of 25-30. However, when they become very large or multiply, they can cause itching, a burning sensation or even bleeding in the event of self-injury. They usually appear in warm and moist areas of the body, where the skin creates folds and favors the growth of HPV viruses. Such areas are the neck, face and especially the eyelids, armpits, chest and groin areas.
Although papillomas can appear in anyone, their appearance is favored by the following predisposing factors: Body Weight (Overweight or Obese individuals), Pregnancy, Endocrine Diseases, Skin Injuries, Coexistence of Warts or Warts, Heredity.
The diagnosis of papillomas should be made exclusively by a Dermatologist and is clinical, with the exception of certain cases where a biopsy is required. In any case, their removal is mandatory, both for medical and cosmetic reasons.

Treatment

The main methods of removing papillomas are surgical excision, removal with electrodiathermy, cauterization with plasma diathermy, removal with radiofrequency, removal with CO2 laser and cryotherapy.

1. Surgical removal. Indicated for large lesions or termite. It is usually done with superficial excision without stitches, is safe, quick and leaves no scars.

2. Removal with CO2 laser. It is one of the most modern and effective treatments. It offers immediate complete healing without creating marks or scars, while the patient immediately returns to his activities.

3. Removal by electrodiathermy. This technique destroys or removes lesions using diathermy or the newer plasma diathermy. The method has excellent results but is relatively more painful than previous ones and requires local anesthesia, while the burn may take several days to heal, and there is a risk of scarring.

4. Removal of warts by cryotherapy. This technique uses liquid nitrogen, either by direct spraying or by using a special swab. The wart is cooled, shrinks, and falls off. It is a safe method, but it may need to be repeated more than once, and it can cause burns in the adjacent areas and, very rarely, scarring.

5. Radiofrequency ablation.
