Prevention - Treatments by LP-CLINIC

All procedures are performed exclusively by Dr. Lefteris Papanikolaou. Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the most common cause of hair loss and thinning. It affects the scalp of men in 80% of cases and women in a smaller 40%. The full causes remain unknown, however it is certain that there is a genetic predisposition for the appearance of AGA. Androgenetic alopecia and its appearance is due to the effect of androgens on the hair follicles and more specifically to the oversecretion of dihydrosterone (DHT) and the enzymes 5α reductase-I & II.

Symptoms

  1. Prolonged intense hair loss (more than 100 hairs per day)
  2. Progressive receding of the temples
  3. Dilution of the peak
  4. Reduction in initial density indicating progression of AGA
  5. Hair thinning.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis begins with a complete medical history and blood or hormone tests, if necessary. This is followed by a pull test, and in some cases a biopsy.

In the next diagnostic phase, we use sophisticated cameras and magnifying lenses in collaboration with specialized software (application) to measure the density, quality, anagen and telogen hairs in the donor or recipient area.

After all of this, we reach diagnostic conclusions about alopecia, possible skin and hair treatments, and the candidate's ability to undergo a hair transplant.

Hair loss treatment

Treating hair loss with medication is not permanent. Without treatment, AGA is a constantly evolving condition.

Injectable mesotherapy containing a cocktail of vitamins, trace elements, and antioxidants from renowned brands.

Injectable autologous mesotherapy. This is autologous regeneration and regeneration of tissues in the affected area.

The treatment of androgenetic alopecia can be conservative or surgical.

When androgenetic alopecia is resistant to conservative treatments, it may be the subject of surgical treatment using the hair transplantation method.

The lack of hair growth on the scalp in genetically predisposed individuals is often accompanied by negative effects on male skin health, such as actinic hyperkeratosis and the possibility of malignant transformation from the effects of solar radiation. It also significantly affects the psychology and everyday life of the patient.

  4. Understanding your personalized capabilities, specific to your donor area.
  5. Understanding some mathematical approaches, which have to do with the extent of the alopecia problem in relation to square centimeters and the percentage of total removal from the healthy donor area.
  6. Understanding the harmless method.
